My Java Cookie Recipe

I was revising for my finals week, and then I came across Cookies in Java servlets...

Immediately, I googled the recipe and since it was quite simple, I decided to bake some.

Here's the "recipe":

import java.ingredients.*;
import java.ingredients.flour.*;
import java.ingredients.brownSugar.*;
import java.ingredients.egg.*;
import java.ingredients.butter.*;
import java.ingredients.vanillaEssence.*;
import java.ingredients.bakingPowder.*;
import java.ingredients.milk.*;
import java.ingredients.raisinOrChocolateChip.*;

public class createCookie extends BakingServlet
      public void doBake(BakingServletRequest request, BakingServletResponse response)
      throws OverheatException
           String data = request.getParameter("ingredients");
           Cookie cookie = new Cookie("MyCookies", data);

           PrintWriter pw = response.getWriter();

           pw.println("MyCookie has been baked...");
           pw.println("Serve with a glass of milk...");

Enjoy! xx

Operation Research: Simplex Calculator

This sem I'm studying OR (VTU: 10CS661), and I've found a really amazing online calculator (it also has an Android version) that can perform any simplex methods: standard one, Big-M, Two-Phase...

Here's the link to the online calc:

Is exams a fair way to assess a student's capabilities?

1) Cheating

Nowadays, with all the technological innovations, cheating is kinda common... I'm pretty sure they're gonna develop 'Cheating Apps' soon...

Here's 50 ways of using technology to cheat:

2) You may fall sick, get hit by a car, suffer from emotional stress (someone close to you die) during exams...

And consequently, you waste a full year or semester!

3) Luck!

In my college for lab exams, students need to choose from a lot of questions... Obviously, if you're lucky enough you'll get a pretty easy question!

4) Do college authorities have anything to say about you passing or not?

Currently, I heard that someone occupying a rather important place at the college told a student: "Your Degree is in my hand!"

It's like if they like they'll make you pass, otherwise, you're fcked!

5) Due to the exams pressure, do students really learn something at school or they just study to pass the exams?

Bob Marley's Love Quote

"Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more.

You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement.

They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful.

There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever.

Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby.

Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon.

You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible.You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you.

You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life."

The Learning Process

There're many psychological definitions, flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate The Learning Process.

But for me, learning is the fact of increasing our knowledge coupled with applying whatever we've learnt in real-life situations.

How many times have you tried really hard to remember some complex mathematical formulae just to use it on the day of exam and forget all about it afterwards?

Studying just for the sake to clear out your exams ain't call studying... well, not that exams aren't important! But my point is, learning should be a fun, creative and innovative activity... Not the thought of being stuck in a classroom and checking your watch every 5 minutes wondering when the lectures would get over!

"Grades do not measure intelligence & age doesn't define maturity."
